BRITISH BOYS' AT KILMARNOCK (BARASSIE) IN 2010

The R&A has announced that the Boys' Amateur Championship will return to Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club in 2010.

This will be the sixth time that the championship has been staged at Barassie, in the clubs 120 year history.

Founded in 1887, Kilmarnock (Barassie) has a long association with junior golf, having recently staged the R&A’s Junior Open Championship in 2004 and the European Youth Championship in 2000.

Previous winners of the Boys' Amateur at Barassie include Howard Clark (1971) and Ronan Rafferty (1979).

This is the third of a trio of R & A events being held in Ayrshire from 2008 to 2010, after the Amateur Championship, being played at Turnberry in June 2008 and the Open Championship which will return to the same venue in July 2009.
